Questions about reports & analytics

Does recording a payment in a PMS mean the money has been received?

A payment entry shows what was recorded in the operational account; it is not independent proof of cash receipt or bank settlement. Compare it with the appropriate external evidence under the hotel’s reconciliation procedure. Investigate duplicate entries, timing differences and unresolved refunds separately. A zero folio balance can still contain errors if its underlying entries are incorrect.

Which operational reports should hotel managers review?

Choose reports around decisions: arrivals and departures for preparation, room and housekeeping information for readiness, and account or payment records for follow-up. NivaasCloud provides property-specific operational reports. Confirm the property, date range and definitions before interpreting a total. Give material exceptions an owner; opening a dashboard does not resolve the underlying booking, room or account question.

What is the difference between ADR and RevPAR?

ADR divides the relevant room revenue by sold or occupied room nights, while RevPAR divides room revenue by available room nights. Use compatible revenue and date definitions when comparing them. ADR describes the achieved average room rate; RevPAR also reflects unsold capacity. Neither measure establishes profit or money collected, so review them alongside other appropriate operational and financial information.
